I made this site just to have some praise tabs available. All of these songs were written/composed by other people. If anyone (artists, music companies, etc.) wants me to remove any songs, let me know and I will. I'm not an expert. Just an amateur who occasionally gets pulled to lead worship at Bible study by default. =) Chords I think are accurate, no guarantees! And the keys are usually what I like to sing in or what I adjust to for small group.
Sometimes when I'm really bored I'll check the footprints section of this blog (just for kicks), and today there were 3 hits, I think from the same person as they were all listed from Washington state, that showed that the webpages he or she was just on prior to my site were from searching 3 different pornography related terms on a search engine. Whoever you are, I don't know who (since I don't have an IP address and wouldn't know what to do with it anyway), being addicted to sex is like anything else. It can be overcome and forgiven. God bless!
It's been a long time, eh? My absence from this site has paralleled my absence from all things church. Okay, it's not that bad. I still went to church when I was off but my involvement in my fellowship group tapered off as I got busier with work.
Everything in my life right now is in flux...many things are changing and those that aren't are clamoring to... But after worshipping one day at church I realized how constant God is. Despite the crashing waves and tumultuous winds of daily life, He is always there. He has always been there. From before time began until the end of days, in good times and bad and times when I am running away from Him, He is still there waiting and offering His wonderful heart.
And that is something that I can always find comfort in...
The tabs that I found for this song were mostly in the key of C (with capo1). To make it easier to play (and sing) I changed it to the key of Bb by playing it in the key of G with capo3. The second time you sing the bridge on the last chord you should be playing a D# (or Eb, same smell), but I didn't since that chord is too hard for my stiff fingers!
Capo 3

I've been really busy. That much is obvious, huh? So busy in fact that I hardly have time to update my main xanga, much less this one. And, per routine, when I get busy my prayer/worship/BBS etc. life suffers. Why does it always go the way of how that which is most important becomes least important? The things I'm working for aren't necessarily bad. Running around work like a chicken being chased by the Colonel I've discovered the reason why the groundhog goes back into the ground...it has nothing to do with the length of the seasons, he just wants to sleep! But work will lead to future rewards, both monetary and emotional, goals both selfish and altruistic. In between I try to exercise. Without fail I make it to Monday night basketball. I love that feeling of running up and down the court, hearing the swish as the ball goes into the hoop. The rewards for that? Less fat and more phat. haha!
But I always let my relationship with God take 2nd place to all other goals, even though I know deep down in my heart that nothing is as wonderful as knowing that my heart is safe with someone, nothing is as lovely as the smile of forgiveness and nothing is as worthy of my time than the Almighty One.
Priorities, Frank. Priorities. Let's try this again.
Below is a sample of how to play this song. And sorry...in the beginning of the video I said "fret" a few times when I should've said "string." But you get the picture. When I have time I'll come back and tab out those chords for you! And thanks to Matt for teaching me this song last year in Hawaii Nei. So it's his fault if I'm playing/singing it wrong...HAHA!
Another Christmas has come and gone...the malls were full and, well, they're still full. Haha... This is the one time in the year where people can talk about a baby named Jesus and no one (except the occasional rabbi at Sea-Tac airport in Washington state) will be offended. Part of that is because Christmas is a Hallmark Holiday, subjugated by shopping malls. But part of it is also the image of Jesus as a baby. What harm can a baby do?
I love this song because it touches on another aspect of God...his power and might. A triumphant warrior riding on His golden chariot...you get the picture. I think that's the aspect of God that's been missing a little in this world...and my life.
With all the loss in my life the past 2 years I've focused a lot on God as a comforting figure, someone who knows the fears of my heart and keeps it safe. And when I blatantly sin, I seek the grace of His forgiving side. Even leading worship, I often forget about seeking to bask in his glorious side...his wondrous splendor, covering all of us with his warmth.
He truly is holy. Fear it. Enjoy it. Be safe in it. Happy birthday, Jesus. ^_^
When Brian Doerksen previewed this song in a concert I was just taken aback. It's just raw and powerful. Simple. 4 chords. But that's where it gets its *oomph* from, as you can just keep driving those same chords over and over. You can also choose to bring it down near the end and then crescendo up again.
You can hear the studio version at his myspace. Below is a simple example:
The album isn't out yet so I can't vouch for the accuracy of the lyrics. Eep! When I get the official lyrics, I'll update if necessary.
